Description

Welcome to the Bicycle Mobile Hams of America, a club comprised of Amateur Radio operators that operate ham radios from their bicycles.

BMHA is a group of friendly hams/riders that can offer expert advice regarding equipment choice, installation techniques, and solutions to technical problems.

All are welcome here (even non-hams) to learn or teach with near-immediate results. Also, use this list to coordinate group rides with other BMHA members, something that is more difficult to do with our quarterly newsletter. Questions and answers posted here may be transcribed to the BMHA Newsletter for non-listmembers to comment on. Enjoy!

That's the site I was thinking of. There's a lot of good information there, along with the late Sheldon Brown's excellent tutorials on dynohubs and lighting

I am with N3KQX on the handy talkie rig. You can also take along a precharged gel/nicad/etc battery and plug it into your HT for additional operating time.
