Welcome to Cafe OA!

We are an artistic adjunct to the Orions Arm Worldbuilding Group. We are here to breathe artistic life -- through creative writing, music, visual art, etc -- into the hard science framework the worldbuilding group has developed. You don't need to be a mathematician or a scientist to participate -- you only need a passion for creativity and an interest in the OA setting.

There are a few guidelines for participation. Please read these guidelines before posting.

Some additional rules to note:

• We have an automated list of recent submissions to help you find submissions to crit.
• Submission of work for critique are encouraged, but be prepared to reciprocate by critiquing others' work. Strive to give as much as you receive. The group only works if everyone contributes
• Honest criticism is encouraged, but please keep your comments constructive. If you don't like something, suggest how the author can improve it. If you like something, tell the author why!
• Begin the subjects of submission posts with a SUB: prefix. This is required for your submission to appear on our automated submission list
• Offer critiques and opinions on a submission in a reply to that post. Try to remember to change your subject line from SUB to CRIT
• Label non-SUB or non-CRIT posts as OT for "other topic"
• Remember to snip your replies out of respect for our dial-up members
