This group encourages and facilitates exploration of regionally diverse musical styles by providing and inviting files in MIDI and arranger-style formats. What we are looking for are culturally and/or regionally evocative (authentic or derivative) musical material. The organization is geographical and cultural. Stylemakers: MIDI files from many lands are available as source material at www.mayasite.net and click on "MIDI Atlas". Posts may be in any language, but translations to English are encouraged. (Folder descriptions give number of styles by manufacturers, check file descriptions for model compatibility). Keywords: Ethnic, World, Traditional, MIDI, Asian, Asia, Africa, African, MidEast (Middle East), America, Oceania, music, styles, arrangers. Suggestions for new categories or organization are welcome. Files in .txt format can accompany other files for notes on compatibility, use, and cultural context.
