NordSect is the official list of the Nordic Section of the American Folklore Society. The Nordic Section is open to all AFS members who are interested in Nordic folkloristics or the folklore of the Nordic countries, irrespective of its origins, including the circumpolar areas and Nordic minority groups around the world. The purpose of the Nordic Section is to advance folkloristic studies connected with the above-mentioned fields of interest by publishing a newsletter and otherwise facilitating contact among its membership (such as the NordSect list), and by organizing and supporting panels, sessions, and individual presentations related to the Section's range of interests at the AFS annual meetings.
