If it's wet/snowy I can shift the 208 on the fly at hwy speeds, too. 229 is great on snow, works fine off-road, don't know of anyone who's broken one....

They are very common in the junkyards, still, probably the most common tcase in FSJ. So forget repair, just get a few spares with known good viscous couplers....

Sand is a little different, but any other kind of 4 wheeling is usually best done in low range. It saves wear and tear on your motor, transmission and brakes....
