the firmware note is mainly for the USB driver, which the linux version doesn't use as much, but there are usful updates in the later firmware....

yep they use the same protocol, can't recall if photopc has the extended mc-eu1 commands or not, i:m sur ejohn has it listed somewhere on his site though...
