This site is dedicated to Living Colour, one of the best (and possibly most underappreciated) bands in the history of music...and that ain't no shi*! From the searing guitar of Mr.Reid, to the beautiful vocals of Corey Glover, to the thumping bass lines of Muzz and Doug and the drums of Calhoun, they have made some of the most amazing music ever recorded. Many of their tunes address social issues: police brutality, the poor, drug abuse, racism, 9/11, facism and politics and they do it all with a sweet, melodic groove.
They are beyond compare and timeless. Open up your ears and "hear" them.
This forum will give us die-hards a chance to talk about the band. Let's discuss the old days, the early club days, the Stones, Lolapalooza and Stain tours.
And we can talk about life since the reunion show December 21, 2000 at CBGBs in New York, which was followed by a string of dates on the West Coast in May 2001, where fans were treated to versions of "Sacred Ground" and "Release The Pressure," as well as a very funky version of Jimi's "Power of Soul." More dates were played in South America, Europe and the U.S. in the last few years. In November 2002, the band signed a deal with Sanctuary Records. The new album "Collideoscope" is their most recent effort, and is as strong as anything out there. The guys are playing a string of dates in Europe and the States this summer!
Also, they have a new dvd out recorded in Philly last December, cut and paste this link: http://www.amazon.com/Living-Colour-Stage-World-Cafe/dp/B000OYC3I4/ref=sr_1_1/002-5011980-6011206?ie=UTF8&s=dvd&qid=1183330780&sr=8-1
Let's keep each other informed. Peace.
