This list will serve as a place for ham radio Volunteer Examiners to gather and exchange ideas that would foster the process of administering ham radio license tests to the ham radio community. We as VE's have developed methods and techniques in the course of establishing or working within various VE groups that would benefit each other. We need to share that information so that it can be of more value.
Examples of topics are:
Procurement of a suitable testing site and how to negotiate terms.
Accomodation of various individual handicaps.
Pros and cons of headphone CW testing vs. loudspeaker CW testing.
How test materials are organized, stored, and transported.
Club support of VE programs.
A good many VE's are also ham radio instructors. The two activities go hand in hand and do share some common ground, so education topics might come up as well.
The list of topics can, and I hope will, grow.
Let's keep it simple. Let's stay out of politics. Gripes about subjects like restructuring except as it directly impacts on test session operation probably belongs elsewhere. VEC bashing (your own or others) or any other bashing doesn't belong here. But, legitimate, constructive critiques on improvements that can be made should be OK. No "secure" information should appear here. Exam content integrity must be maintained. The main intent is to have dialogue that addresses the street level activities of VE's that VEC's customarily do not get involved with. So welcome to our group should you choose to join.
If you have the choice, please sign up to this group with a call sign based email address.
