Canadian Transit News is an Internet mailing list to share and discuss current news about public transit in Canada.
The list has been established for those who are interested in transit in Canada, but everyone is welcome to join.
Canadian - The subject of discussion is transit in the cities, towns, and regions of Canada. Information about transit in other parts of the world is often relevant in comparison, but is not the main topic here.
Transit - Local public transportation in cities and towns, whether provided by bus, light rail, rapid transit, or ferry. Commuter bus and railway operations are included, and intercity buses and trains are, when they are serving a regional or local market.
News - Factual information about transit equipment, operations, construction, and issues. Please be careful that you are not forwarding rumours or speculation as though they were fact. The list is not primarily meant for advocacy or political opinions; there are better homes for discussions of that nature. Questions should be related to the aims of the list, and should be opportunities to share information, not one-sided requests for assistance.
Please sign your reports with your name, the location you are writing from, and the name of any agency or organisation you represent. Please be sparing in your use of quoted information from previous reports.
NOTE: Anyone who sends unkind or ill-tempered remarks will be invited to leave the list.
